Historical
The city of Gazzada Schianno administratively united the two countries: Gazzada and Schianno.
The district is located in an area of transition between the high plains of Lombardy, which is dominated by extensive glacial and fluvial deposits, and morainic hills, connecting to the Alps.
In the home of Gazzada, in a panoramic position, is located Cagnola Villa, built by the family Perabò in the first half of the eighteenth century and later amended by Senator Charles Cagnola, who collected and preserved remarkable works of art.
A Schianno is the church of SS. Cosmas and Damian, recalled in documents of 1288, but probably before 1000 with a massive tower whose base is the entrance, inside there are frescoes of the century. XV-XVI.
The view of the Schianno Gazzada Bellotto (opera kept the Pinacoteca di Brera) gives a clear image of the country in 700, over time the town has undergone significant changes.
To date, the country offers good resources industry, favored by the proximity with the city of Varese, the passage of the State Railway of Varese-Milan and the Lakes from the A8.
